- Sweat Lodge Ceremony -- A Guided Spiritual Journey:
In Native American tradition and style -- Saturday and Sunday.
Meet at the Peaceful Spirit Sweat Lodge between Campsites #5 and #6.
Saturday April 15: Lodge begins at 4:00pm -- $20 donation appreciated; arrive early.
Sunday April 16: Lodge begins at 9:00am -- $20 donation appreciated; arrive early.
Both Saturday and Sunday Lodge: $30.

On Thursday, we will erect the two tipi's in the prepared areas prior to Lodge. Tipi construction includes erecting 17 each 24 foot poles, an exterior canvas, and interior condensation skirt, an overhead ozane to keep out water, and attachment of the main tipi canvas to the earth with metal stakes. Takes a few hours. - Sweat Lodge Completion:
On Friday we will be completing construction of the Sweat Lodge. This includes finishing tying off of saplings that form the "igloo" structure, covering the sapling "igloo" structure with carpeting, cotton canvas, cotton blankets and comforters. Removal of a stubborn tree stump, and completion of the fire pit for super heating the stones (ancestors), 28 in total, 7 used in each round of sweating. - Drum Circle and Bon-Fire:
Saturday evening stream-side bon-fire at the Community Bon-Fire cirlce with Native American drum rhythms led by the Sweat Lodge facilitators including Doc, Manin, and Doug (bring a drum or any other instrument). - Workshops: in Yoga, Meditation, Massage, African Drumming, African Dance, Reiki Energy Work
and many other topics may be offered on any given weekend. Stream side massage sessions are always available as well. - Hiking and Exploring: Abram's Creek is a magnificent boulder filled, waterfall rich, and cascade filled stream. Hiking and scouting out downstream swimholes and waterfalls for many miles is a great way to spend the day.
- Organized Group Hikes and Picnics: Organized group hikes and picnics can be arranged for a willing crowd. Downstream waterfalls and swimholes abound and there are so many places to explore.
- Mountain Biking: While there are many rural back roads in the local area suitable for mountain biking, the best place is the Rails to Trails scenic bike route accessible from Thomas, WV. This gravel trail goes through old train tunnels and follows the Blackwater River for many miles. Bikes can even be rented in Davis, WV (2 miles from Thomas).
- Swimming / Wading / Tubing / Snorkeling: Abram's Creek offers all of the above with many deeper and more shallow swim holes for all swim levels and ages.
- Bon-Fires and Music: Come down to the Community Bon-Fire Circle or build yourself a big fire, cook all of the things that taste great over and in a fire
and pull out your favorite instruments (guitar, drum, flute..) and enjoy yourself. - Friends Tea House / Welcome Center: Wheather it's late at night or just before dawn (or anything in between), stop by the Friends Tea House & Welcome Center and have yourself a free cup of tea or coffee, make some new friends and congregate with some fellow campers. The coffee's always brewing at the Friends Tea House.
- Relax and Rejuvinate: Just come and enjoy nature. Acres of hemlock forest; miles of gurgling water.
Simply enjoy what nature took thousands of years to create just for you.

Warning: There may be nudity during the Sweat Lodge ceremony. Clothing or a towel or sarong is okay as well. Bring a towel if you need something between you and the earth. Also, temperatures get quite hot inside of the Lodge during ceremony and increase during each of 4 rounds as 7 more heated stones are brought in each round, totally 28 by round 4. Fire and Water elements will be very present during the several hour ceremony.
